Practice Policies:
Confidentiality & Privacy
Your privacy is a priority. Information shared during therapy sessions is kept confidential in accordance with professional ethical standards and applicable laws. There are limited exceptions to confidentiality, including situations involving risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or when otherwise required by law.
Appointments & Scheduling
Therapy sessions are scheduled by appointment only. Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. To provide consistent care and availability for all clients, appointments should be scheduled in advance.
Cancellation & Late Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will result in a full session fee charge. Insurance companies do not cover missed appointments or late cancellation fees, and clients are responsible for these charges.
Payment & Insurance
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, and UMR insurance plans. Insurance benefits vary by plan, and clients are responsible for understanding their coverage, including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts.
For clients who choose to pay privately, the session fee is $140 per 50-minute session. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.
Communication Between Sessions
I understand that questions or concerns may arise between sessions. Brief communication through secure messaging may be used for scheduling and administrative purposes. Therapy is not conducted through email or messaging, and responses outside of scheduled sessions are not intended for crisis support.
Telehealth Policy
Virtual therapy is available for clients located in Louisiana, Minnesota, and Ohio. Telehealth sessions require a private, confidential space and a reliable internet connection. Clients must be physically located in a state where I am licensed to practice at the time of their session. You may not be in a moving vehicle during your session.
Emergency & Crisis Situations
Therapy services are not intended for emergency or crisis situations. If you are experiencing an immediate safety concern or emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, contact the appropriate crisis resources available in your area.
Client Responsibility & Participation
Therapy is a collaborative process that requires active participation. While I will provide guidance, support, and evidence-based interventions, meaningful change often comes through the work clients engage in both during and outside of sessions.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your mental health care if you are not using insurance or if applicable under federal regulations. You may request an estimate of expected charges before beginning services.
